Practicalities

Sometimes when you're little and sick there are certain things you can't go without...

Poor Hallé had her first huge cold since Sept and unfortunately it was the first now that both her ear tubes have fallen out.  In my words...her eustachian tubes flunked big time.  i'm thankful for dr's and medicine but praying those little ears make it through allergy season without having to go back in for surgery or too many rounds of antibiotics.

Polka dots, Stripes, & Super-Stars

This is a  memory i love. Hallé patiently waiting for Eden to round the corner walking home from school...She does this often and they scream and run to hug each other.

Although I'm very partial to using black and white photos over color almost everytime; there was no possible way for a black and white to capture the red cowgirl boots that Eden used to proudly romp around in as well...accompanied by the pastel polka dotted shirt and pink striped pants she chose for herself today.  Please note that if you ever hear me fighting with my kids or losing it with them...it's purposeful and a battle i chose...because if it's not clear by now, clothing is NOT a battle i've chosen (well i've chosen it a few times stupidly but i lose happily; it's not worth it)  i adore their whimsical and confidant wardrobe choices at home or to the grocery store. I still have to step in when they sometimes pick their birthday suits (ok..often for hallé as erin fay frequently points out!) As a mom I like to dream about what this will look like in them as they grow older...bold, confidant, not concerned about what others think,  secure, able to laugh at themselves & make others feel comfortable & included, decisive, seeing the beauty within themselves of a loving spirit the way God does .....  i can dream.  i'm more than aware of the hormonal closet raiding wars that most likely await us.   i will visit this post when that day comes and remind myself of these free spirited clothing days and their anticipation for each others arms after a long day apart.

Hallé watched the ski jumping event with me and said "i'm going to do that. i will be so good. take me to that hill and put those on my feet so i can go up in the air for a long time too mom."

I was like "hal, mommy would get nauseated just standing at the top of that hill thinking of being up in mid air at that height free falling, but if you're ever the best, i'll go and be brave." she said: "i will be, just trap those 'ki-ing fings on my feet and i will go up so high and it will not be 'cary for me."

Eden had her friend get to stay for a sleepover here and had fun getting fancy...

The Remainder of our month of March Maddness ...(3/18 - 3/31)

The Tooth Fairy should not be caught off guard anymore when a tooth falls out moments before bedtime and she needs to present "magical" as Eden would say. Apparently I overdid it the first couple times and so one night when she lost a tooth right before bed, I just stashed some cash under her pillow.(It was a $10 by way because it's all I had!) Her response: "That's ok mommy if the Tooth Fairy couldn't make magic this time and didn't have enough money. She only gave me "one money" instead of lot's and lot's like the other times (as in: pile of glittered coins) so maybe I'm loosing so many teeth that she can only do it every other time?!?"

"Yup, that's it Eden!"

So here is the late night magic complete with glitter:

The Tooth Fairy has visited Eden's Bedroom 5 times in the last 10 months....

And has learned that coins work in gumball machines and are more valuable than cash to kids! Sweet!

She has us check and look at her "Loose Teef" all the time! The night before that she'd snuck a orange marker to bed. Can you see the remains all over her bed?

This is Eden so happy that she's getting to be creative with a bunch of permanent paints and a big box (DURING Hallé's naptime)....it turned out really cute and they use it tons now (forget expensive Christmas presents) when they're setting up their dollhouse or out in the back yard to play forts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Eden Going Green"

I love this memory so much. It was windy here (surprise!?!) and Eden's kite from last year had broken so she "improvised" and made her own that was cuter than a store bought I though! Twig + Floss + WalMart Plastic Bag + Birthday Streamers + (on other side) a drawing she had colored of she and Hallé to decorate it! Later we added a second bag and had pretty good success. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm 31!

Some people love me and get me angel food cake

(Mom & Dad) and delicious Fruit Tart Birthday cakes (Jonni!)....others (Amanda!) got me this little circle of Lard like Love. 53 Grams of Fat in this cake some could sit down and eat in one serving. Bob (Biggest Loser) would die!

I did have some, but threw away!

My grandpa and I have shared a Birthday cake for many a years. Very Special to me. This year he showed us all how if you're very lucky and turn 79 like he was then you can warm your cold hands over your Birthday cake candles someday!

I was just too lazy to blog, I think I'll blame winter. I LUV NOT WINTER! From the top of my head to the bottom of my feet I was created to (worship!) AND love the warm weather!

I never should have left Hawaii!

So today is the 17th, I've had in my head that when today came no matter what I was doing, I would stay up late and catch up my blog.

~~Plus I'm so sick and tired of facebook being nothing but "QUIZ RESULTS" no offense, but they're the "S" word....STUPID!

My last entry was Feb.17th and I didn't want to let more than 2 months of catching up go by.....I've been taking pictures "thinking in BLOG-GESE" each time I snap one and say....I'll get to it, I'll get to it. ...WELL...I'm here....Drink, Music, and finally all my pictures uploaded for the last 2 months!
